Delamater House Wedding Venue Review | Orlando Wedding Photographer
Some wedding days simply feel effortless from start to finish, and Katie and Tucker's Delamater House wedding was exactly that.
Nestled among tropical greenery and towering oak trees, Delamater House provided the perfect backdrop for their timeless black-and-white wedding palette. Katie looked stunning in her fitted gown paired with classic white calla lilies, while Tucker's white dinner jacket added a sophisticated touch that felt right at home among the venue's lush gardens.
One of my favorite things about photographing weddings at Delamater House is how many portrait locations are available without ever leaving the property. From the iconic wooden barn doors to the tropical pathways and intimate ceremony space, every corner offers beautiful photo opportunities throughout the day.
The couple chose to share a first look before the ceremony, which allowed us to create most of their portraits early and enjoy a relaxed timeline. This is something I often recommend at Delamater House, especially for couples planning a fall or winter wedding when daylight disappears earlier than expected.
Their outdoor ceremony was filled with emotional moments, including a sweet walk down the aisle with Katie's father and a joyful celebration as they were pronounced husband and wife. The natural greenery surrounding the ceremony site created a beautiful backdrop that required very little additional décor.
Why I Love Photographing at Delamater House
As a wedding photographer, Delamater House is one of my favorite hidden gems in Central Florida because it offers:
- Multiple portrait locations within walking distance
- Beautiful natural shade throughout the property
- A private and intimate atmosphere
- Gorgeous tropical greenery year-round
- A ceremony space that photographs beautifully from every angle
One tip I always share with couples planning a Delamater House wedding: allow at least 20-30 minutes for sunset portraits. The soft light filtering through the trees creates some of the most romantic images of the entire day.
Katie and Tucker's wedding was a perfect example of how a timeless design, meaningful moments, and a beautiful venue come together to create an unforgettable celebration.
We are so honored to have been part of their day.

FAQ
Is a first look worth it at Delamater House?
In my experience, yes. Delamater House offers several beautiful portrait locations throughout the property, and a first look allows you to enjoy those areas before guests arrive. It also helps create a more relaxed timeline and leaves room for sunset portraits later in the day.
How much time should we set aside for wedding portraits at Delamater House?
I recommend at least 45 minutes total for couple portraits. The venue has multiple portrait locations including tropical gardens, wooden barn doors, ceremony grounds, and shaded pathways, so having enough time allows us to create a gallery with plenty of variety without feeling rushed.
What is the best ceremony time for photos at Delamater House?
For the most flattering light, I typically recommend scheduling your ceremony approximately 2 hours before sunset. This allows enough daylight for family photos afterward while still giving us access to beautiful golden-hour light for romantic portraits.
How many guests is Delamater House best suited for?
From what I've seen, Delamater House feels most comfortable for intimate to medium-sized weddings. The venue maintains its charming, private atmosphere while still providing enough space for guests to move comfortably between the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception areas.
What is one thing couples wish they knew before getting married at Delamater House?
Plan extra time for portraits. Almost every couple falls in love with the property once they arrive and realizes there are more photo opportunities than expected. Adding just 15 extra minutes to your timeline can make a huge difference and allows you to fully enjoy everything the venue has to offer.
This one feels especially authentic because it sounds like advice from a photographer who's actually worked there, not from a venue brochure.
